Tasting Note

90   2001   Archery Summit Premier Cuvee            7/23/05 ($35)

Color: Medium red and black raspberry. Neither young nor old, with just a touch of onion skin. (3.0) Bouquet: Very aromatic with nuances of cherry cola and barbecued pork. Sweet and delicious. (3.5) Body: Solid middleweight with excellent acidity propelling the fruit and a touch of tannin. (3.0) Flavor: Has a smoky pork flavor intertwined with a lot of acidity, supporting raspberry and cola fruit. Could have more fruit for the amount of acidity, but lively and tasty. (2.5) Finish: Parallels flavor, but musky(I like it). Very Pinot or should I say Burgundian. Also has good length. (3.0)
Overall: Just makes excellent. The last two bottles of this that I had were better (91-92). This one tastes like the fruit is fading slightly, showing more alcohol and less richness. Still very enjoyable. (15.0)
