89+ 2013 Tami Frappato (IGT-Terre Siciliane) 11/21/14 ($17)
12.5% alc
Color: Medium black cherry. (3.0) Bouquet: Elegant anise and minerals complement tart, musky cherry and strawberry fruit. (3.0) Body: Middleweight with excellent acidity/minerality and delicate, pretty fruit. Tangy mouthfeel. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet. (3.0) Finish: Long and tasty, but not yet as distinctive as the rest. (2.5)
Overall: Shows more young fruit and less elegance and character than the 2011, but I think this is just a matter of time (give it 2 years). An equally amazing value. Can be drunk by itself, but an even better food wine. Like outstanding Beaujolais, this can be drunk with just about anything. (14.5)
